The size of the project report depends on the nature of the theme of the project you have selected. However, it is desirable that the project report should be around 100 pages typed in double space. The report should be in A4 size sheet.

Who Can Be the Guide/Supervisor for IGNOU AHE?

The learner will require a Guide/Supervisor for carrying out the Project.

The eligibility criteria:

1. a) From Study Centre/ Regional Centre/ otherwise direct from Maidan Garhi also.
2. b) M.Phil/PhD. in Tourism management with a minimum of two years’ Undergraduate/Post Graduate teaching experience.

Or

1. c) Master’s Degree in Tourism management with a minimum of two years’ experience at Post Graduate level.

Or

1. d) Master’s Degree in Tourism management with a minimum of five years of teaching experience at the Undergraduate level.

The student while submitting the synopsis should also submit the bio-data of the supervisor, duly signed by the supervisor (Refer to Appendix-I).

The learner will submit the synopsis along with the bio-data of the supervisor (wherever it is required), at the Study Centre/Regional Centre.

The Study Centre/Regional Centre will then send these synopses to the Discipline of Tourism Management, IGNOU, New Delhi for necessary approval.

There will be remuneration to the Supervisor/Guide for guiding each project. He/she can claim Project Guidance remuneration using a Pro forma (Appendix-II), after final submission of the project/dissertation of the learners at the Regional Centre.

Q2. What are the criteria for submission of IGNOU AHE 1 SYNOPSIS?

Ans:  The  process of submission of IGNOU AHE 1 Synopsis is as follows:

• The learner prepares the IGNOU project report proposal/synopsis and submits it at the study centre.
• The project proposal is submitted in A4 size paper typed in double space along with a consent letter of the Guide (Appendix II) and the pro forma for approval (Appendix III).
• The learner retains a copy of the synopsis. Proposals not accompanying the above papers will not be considered for approval.
• Proposal is submitted before the last date of submission.

• The  Program In-Charge of the Study Centre examines the proposals and gives approval/disapproval.
• If it is disapproved, it is conveyed to the learner and modification is suggested. The learner makes the suggested modifications and resubmits the synopsis to the study center.

Q3. What are some important points to remember during submission of the IGNOU AHE SYNOPSIS?

Ans:  There are some important points that need to be taken in mind during the submission of the IGNOU AHE Synopsis. The learner needs to submit only one copy of the Project Proposal and retain another copy for the future possible use/reference.

The learner should write IGNOU AHE 01 neatly on the envelope and submit at the Study Centre. Before submitting the proposal, the learner must ensure the inclusion of:

• Pro forma for Approval of Project Proposal duly filled and signed by both, the learner and the guide/supervisor.

• Detailed Bio-data of the Supervisor/Guide duly signed by him/her (in the case where the Academic Counselor is not the Guide).

• Consent letter of the Supervisor/Guide.

1. Topic Selection:

2.Selection of Guide

After the selection of topic, what comes next is selection of Guide. Guide happens to be the key person in the entire process of project making. So, you should put adequate amount of time and find a Guide who is eligible to be a Guide— active professional, adequately experienced and keenly interested in guiding you. The eligibility criteria of Guide is already specified by the university. and hence you can search easily.

 

3.Preparation of Synopsis:

As and when you select a Guide, the next thing is to prepare your Project Proposal with the able and effective guidance of your Guide. Make sure that the proposal of your proposed project contains the following headings:

 

(i) Introduction: In this section, you should briefly mention the background of your topic chosen.

(ii) Rationale: In this section, you should mention the justification for your project work.

 

(iii) Objectives: This section happens to be one of the most important aspects of a project. Here, write about the things that you hope, will be able to know/achieve by carrying out this project.

(iv) Research Methodology: This section includes Research Design, the Nature and Source of data/information, Sample and sampling technique, Tools and Techniques, Method/s to be used for data collection, Data handling and analysis, Limitation of your proposed project, if applicable.

 

When you become able to create a synopsis, you should not directly submit it. Before submitting your synopsis, you should make sure that:

• The synopsis bears the sign of your Guide along with you yourself with date.
• Your synopsis must contain the detailed Bio-date of your Guide, duly signed in original by the Guide with date.

• Methodology: This heading should contain Design, Sampling, Tools/Techniques & Processing and Analysing Data. In Design, you should write about your overall plan of actions. Your Sampling heading should mention about how you went for selecting the specific object for study. Likewise, the Tools/Techniques column should cover the information related with the instruments, devices, material or techniques that you chose for the collection of data. In Processing and Analysis Data, you need to write about the techniques that you used in order to process and analyse the data collected.

• Analyses and Findings: Under this heading, you should make a presentation of the data analysed along with their rational interpretations. Your presentation may be numerical or graphical. The main thing is: your examiner should be able to understand the interpretation in one go.
