IGNOU PTS-05 Project – Study of Flora & Fauna in Manipur

Flora & Fauna are the plants & animals respectively. The forest blocks consist mostly of ravines and some flat waste lands. It appears that the ravines have been formed due to relative level of banks and their geological structure. Unfit for any other use, the vast areas under ravines come under heavy grazing and reckless hacking. This subsequently accelerated the erosion and extinction of woodland wherever it was existing. Later, for protection of the ground from erosion and further deterioration and for the creation of fuel and fodder reserves the area was closed to grazing, and babul, sissoo and neem were sown.

Objectives

• To study flora & fauna in Manipur state
• To study how tourists attract more towards the plants & animals of the state
• The study helps us to know about the likes and dislikes of tourists related to flora & fauna, which further gives a moral that we should preserve & conserve biodiversity of the state.
• After all that to prepare a chapter of bibliography & references because with the help of all that references, I’ll be able to show my best efforts in my project work.
