What to do if you fail in IGNOU?

STEPS FOR ONLINE SUBMISSION OF THE EXAMINATION FORM AND PAYMENT OF EXAM FEE

• Please make a careful choice when selecting your preferred Regional Centre and corresponding Exam Centre code. The selection process is based on a 'first come, first served' principle.

• If your preferred Exam Centre has reached its maximum capacity, you'll need to select an alternate or the next closest Exam Centre.

• For all courses you plan to sit exams for, ensure that you complete the registration form in a single attempt. Additional attempts to register for courses could result in changes to your Exam Centre or a lack of seating availability at your selected Exam Centre.

• If your registration appears as INVALID or your eligible courses for the Term-end Examination aren't showing in the drop-down menu, you are advised to reach out to the Registrar SRD via email at [email protected] or by phone at 011-29571301. However, if you do not get a response on either of the two, you will have to pay a visit to the center directly along with your documents.

• You should take the printout of the acknowledgment for your records and future use.

• Occasionally, the status of the submission of your examination form might take up to 72 hours to generate post-payment. The University will not be accountable if the status of the submission displays as 'Transaction Failed' after the submission deadline. To avoid this, please don't wait until the last day to submit your examination form. To verify your examination form status, click on the 'SEARCH OPTION'.

• In case no status is displayed, you will need to resubmit the examination form, along with the necessary fee, before the final submission deadline.

When to fill the form if you fail in IGNOU?

The exam at IGNOU is conducted twice a year. If you come to know that you have taken the exam in June and you have got fewer marks, then you can take the exam in the coming month of December. For this, you have to fill out the form from September to October.

If you failed to take the exam in December, then you can take the exam in the same subject in June. For this, you have to fill out the form in the months of March to April.

Allotment of the Examination Centre

The University will make every attempt to arrange for students to take their exams at the chosen examination center. If all seats are occupied at that particular center, students have the option to choose a nearby alternate exam center within the jurisdiction of the same Regional Centre.

Prescribed Fee for the Re-submission of Exam Form

Many students think that as they have already deposited the exam fee, re-payment of the fee is not needed. But, the fact is not such. Any student of IGNOU, who could not get pass marks in their examination, and hence need to fill the exam form, will also need to pay again the exam fee.
