Section –A

Answer any two of the following questions

1. Discuss the merits and limitation of field research.
2. What do you understand by participatory research? Explain with the help of suitable examples.
3. Critically examine the relevance of quantitative methods of date analysis in socio logical research.
4. Explain case study as a method of social research.
5. Discuss the role of ethics in sociological research.

Section-B

Write a research report on any one of the following topics in about 3000 words.

1. Education and social mobility in India.
2. Indian youth and the social media.
3. Street vendors and Indian society.

You can write this report based either on review of literature, or data collected from the primary sources.
For review of literature you are to select either two books or four research articles published recently on the selected topic of your choice. Write a review article focusing on the location of the study, methodology followed and the main findings of these studies.
For the primary source you are to collect two case studies and write a report on the selected topic in a comparative framework. While writing the report spell out clearly the objectives and the problems of the study and
• problematise the issue within the existing/available literature,
• elaborate your observations, finding and conclusion coherently, and
• make proper referencing at the end.

Section –A

2. What is positivism? Discuss Giddens’s critique of positivism.

3. Explain the comparative method. Discuss its scope in social science research.

4. सामाजिक शोध की विधि के रूप में केस अध्ययन का वर्णन कीजिए।
5. समाजशास्त्रीय शोध में नैतिकता की भूमिका पर चर्चा कीजिए ।

भाग-II

निम्नलिखित विषयवस्तुओं में से किसी एकपर लगभग 3000 शब्दों में शोध रिपोर्ट लिखिए ।

(i) भारत में शिक्षा और सामाजिक गतिशीलता
(ii) भारतीय युवा और सोशल मीडिया
(iii) सड़क विक्रेता और भारतीय समाज

आप इस रिपोर्ट को साहित्य की समीक्षा या प्राथमिक स्रोतों से संग्रहित आँकड़ों के आधार पर लिख सकते हैं। साहित्य की समीक्षा के लिए आपको अपनी पसंद के चयनित विषय पर हाल ही में प्रकाशित किन्हीं दो पुस्तकों या चार शोध लेखों का चयन करना होगा। समीक्षा लेख अध्ययन की अवस्थिति और इन अध्ययनों में प्रयुक्त प्रविधि और इन अध्ययनों के मुख्य परिणामों को ध्यान में रखते हुए लिखिए।
प्राथमिक स्रोत के लिए आपको दो केस अध्ययन संग्रहित करने होंगे और चयनित विषयवस्तु पर अपनी रिपोर्ट तुलनात्मक ढाँचे में लिखें। रिपोर्ट लेखन के दौरान अध्ययन के उद्देश्यों और सम्मुख आने वाली समस्याओं को स्पष्ट रूप से व्यक्त करें और
• चयनित मुद्दे को वर्तमान / उपलब्ध साहित्य के दायरे मेंएक समस्या के रूप में अभिव्यक्त करें;
• अपने प्रेक्षणों, निष्कर्षो एवं परिणामों की प्रस्तुति संसक्त रूप से करें और
• अंत में उचित संदर्भ (बिंदुओं) का उल्लेख करें।

भाग क

निम्नलिखित प्रश्नों में से किन्हीं दो के उत्तर दीजिए।

1. परिघटना क्या है? मार्टिन हेडेगर के योगदान को ध्यान में रखकर स्पष्ट कीजिए।

2 प्रत्यक्षवाद क्या है? गिन की प्रत्यक्षवाद की समीक्षा की चर्चा कीजिए।

3 तुलनात्मक विधि का वर्णन कीजिए। सामाजिक विज्ञान शोध में इसके क्षेत्र-विस्तार बवचमद्ध की चर्चा कीजिए।

4. सामाजिक शोध में सहभागितापरक उपागम की चर्चा कीजिए। परंपरागत शोध कार्यपद्धति के साथ इसकी तुलना एवं इनके बीच के अंतर को स्पष्ट कीजिए।

5. सामाजिक विज्ञान शोध में नारीअधिकारवादी विधि की प्रकृति एवं क्षेत्र विस्तार की आलोचनात्मक जाँच कीजिए।

निम्नलिखित में से किसी एक पर लगभग 3000 शब्दों में शोध रिपोर्ट लिखिए।

3 समाजशास्त्रीय शोध में विश्लेषण की परिमाणात्मक विधि की प्रासंगिकता

आप इस रिपोर्ट को साहित्य की समीक्षा या प्राथमिक स्रोतों से एकत्रित आँकड़ों के आधार पर लिख सकते हैं।
साहित्य की समीक्षा के लिए आपको अपनी पसंद की किसी चनी हई विषयवस्त पर हाल ही में प्रकाशित किन्हीं दो पुस्तकों या चार शोध लेखों का चयन करना होगा। समीक्षा लेख लिखते समय अध्ययन की अवस्थिति, अनुसरणीय कार्यपद्धति और इन अध्ययनों के मुख्य निष्कर्षों को ध्यान में रखें।
प्राथमिक स्रोत के लिए आपको दो केस अध्ययनों को एकत्र कर, तलनात्मक ढाँचे में चयनित विषयवस्तु पर रिपोर्ट लिखनी है। रिपोर्ट लेखन के दौरान अध्ययन के उद्देश्यों एवं समस्याओं को खोल कर स्पष्ट करें और
- मुद्दे को मौजूदा/ उपलब्ध साहित्य के दायरे में समस्या का रूप दें;
- अपने प्रेक्षणों, निष्कर्षों एवं परिणाम को ठोस रूप से स्पष्ट करें, और
- उचित विचारणीय बिदुओं तममितमदबपदहद्ध का उल्लेख अंत में करें।
